Governance#

Vortex is a Linux Foundation project, governed by a Technical Charter. The project operates as a consensus-based community with the following roles:

  • Contributors — anyone who contributes code, documentation, or other technical artifacts.

  • Committers — contributors who have earned commit access, approved by a majority of existing committers.

  • Maintainers — committers who are also voting members of the Technical Steering Committee (TSC).

Participation is open to anyone who abides by the project charter. See the contributing guide for how to get started.

Technical Steering Committee#

The TSC is responsible for all technical oversight of the project, including coordinating the technical direction, approving proposals, and establishing community norms and release policies. The TSC aims to reach consensus; when a vote is needed, decisions require a majority of those present with at least 50% quorum.

TSC meetings are open to the public and held monthly. Meeting details and agendas are posted in the Slack workspace. See the public meeting calendar for upcoming dates and Zoom links.
